Map shows the locations of each of the 41 Hennepin County Library locations.
Hennepin County is home to no less than 41 public libraries spread across the county. With over 5 million books, CDs and DVDs, including publications in over 40 languages, and with nearly 2000 public computers and free wireless internet, the Hennepin County Library is impressive.
The Hennepin County Library merged with the Minneapolis Library system in 2008 to create the extensive library we now have. It serves the county’s 1.1 million residents in both city and suburbs with programs for all ages.
The headquarters of the library system are at Ridgedale Library in Minnetonka. Ridgedale is open from 10 to 9 Monday through Thursday, closing at 5 on Friday and Saturday and shorter Sunday hours of 12 to 5.
Other system libraries have varying hours, and many are closed on Mondays. The hours are set to meet the needs of the neighborhoods they are located in.
To find out which library location is closest to you, which programs are ideal for your family’s needs, and to search for that book you’ve wanted to read, visit the Hennepin County Library’s website.
